BROADSIDE
An exhibition based on modern reinterpretations of the one-sheet broadside. This body of work finds its place between the ephemeral, commercialized object and something more lasting, tactile, and intimate or conceptual. The artists investigate a range of interests including those of aesthetics, politics, humor, poetics, and social issues. By conflating message and medium, Broadside explores how outmoded means of communication continue to hold sway in the contemporary imagination.

Blood Clot 5"x7" 2014

1 shot Southern Comfort peach liqueur
1/2 shot grenadine syrup
7-Up soda

Bloody Maria 8"x10" 2014

• 2 ounces tequila
• 1 teaspoon horseradish
• 3 dashes Tabasco sauce
• 3 dashes Worcestershire sauce
• Dash of lime juice
• 3 dashes celery salt
• 3 dashes pepper
• Tomato juice
• 1 teaspoon dijon mustard (optional)
• Celery stalk for garnish
• Lemon and/or lime wedge for garnish
• Cucumber and/or cocktail shrimp for garnish (optional)

I've been working on a new series called "Raise the Spirits."  These paintings are based on cocktails and apparitions.
